Youth Therapy

I help young people, ages 16 plus, develop strong coping skills for life’s challenges, ensuring they are heard, understood, and empowered to support their emotional well-being.

Why consider therapy?

Therapy for youth aims to support youth with common struggles such as anxiety, stress, peer relationship, low self-esteem and confidence. My approach to therapy may include talk therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, emotional regulation skills, and building resillience.

Anxiety and Stress

With constant and immediate access to social media, and the pressures it brings, youth can experience heightened levels of anxiety. In therapy, I can assist youth in identifying the specific triggers that contribute to their feelings of unease. We can explore how their bodies react when they are stressed, and I can teach them effective techniques to calm their minds. This approach not only helps to reduce immediate anxiety but also equips them with coping mechanisms for managing stressful situations in the future, thereby fostering resilience and overall emotional well-being.

Peer and Relationships

Navigating friendships, social dynamics, and family expectations can be challenging. Peer pressure, misunderstandings with friends, and the difficulty of fitting in can lead to feelings of isolation, frustration, or being misunderstood. Through therapy, I can assist in the development of valuable skills, such as effective communication, boundary setting, and conflict resolution, enabling individuals to build and maintain connections with confidence.

Low Self-Esteem and Confidence

As youth navigate the complexities of the digital age, the pervasive pressures, anxiety, and stress associated with social media have created significant challenges to their self-esteem and confidence. Through therapeutic interventions, young individuals can cultivate an understanding of their inherent strengths. Additionally, they can develop mindfulness-based skills and other adaptive strategies. These tools are designed to foster self-compassion and acceptance, empowering them to embrace their unique identities and navigate interpersonal relationships with resilience and self-awareness.
